Hello Jaguar Families!

Included is information and reminders for Monday 5/3- Saturday 5/15.

Parents and students, the end of the school year is fast approaching. We have less than 20 school days left of the school year and the 4th qtr. Parents, please review myStudent grades with your child and work with them on completing assignments in order to finish the school year strong. If you have any questions, have your child work with their teacher or please communicate via email to the teacher with further questions. As a reminder, all students are required to pass all core classes during middle school in order to be promoted to high school. If students fail a course, they must engage in our recovery program for the courses failed. 8th graders who are not meeting these standards will be invited to extended school year (ESY- summer school) and must fully recover to be promoted to HS. First priority will be for 8th graders and there will be some opportunities for identified 7th and 6th graders during the summer. Communication regarding these programs and invitations will be sent out soon. Thank you.

State Testing & District Testing: Testing begins this Monday 5/3, starting with 6th grade ELA Reading and 8th grade math (this is for all students enrolled in 7th grade accelerated Math or 8th grade pre-algebra). Please review the testing calendar for further details. Specific testing details per student can be found on MyLearning and school wide schedules are found on our school website. We have linked all the testing rosters on mylearning and students can find their name and testing dates, times, locations for all test. For any questions, have your child reach out to one of the teachers on team. https://ssms.pasco.k12.fl.us/testing-basics/

COVID Reminders:  In order to protect the health of our employees, staff and students, students & visitors must self-screen for symptoms and other risk factors of COVID-19 daily. If your child answers yes to any of these questions they should not be on campus.  Student Self Screener Please remember, if you take your child for a COVID test, please communicate with our clinic (Mrs. Copeland or Mrs. Cefalu) and students are NOT to be on campus as they await their COVID test results. If they are well enough to continue with their learning, they can access ZOOM or continue working through myLearning and email their teacher with questions. A face covering is required on all school buses, in all District buildings, in all school buildings and during all school-sponsored events and activities.
