~Reminder, there is NO School on Friday, April 2 for students and teachers. School resumes back on Monday April 5, and is the first day for FSA Writes. ~
We had a great week back from spring break and kicking off the 4th quarter!
3rd Quarter Report Cards will be posted in myStudent on Tuesday, 3/30/21. Please log in and view your child’s grades. Please email your child’s teachers if you have any questions. Everything State and District Testing! FSA Writes kicks off on Monday April 5th. We know this can be a stressful time for many, but we are keeping our focus on learning and assuring our students to do their best like they do each and every day! Mrs. Quina, Ms. Barrow, and our testing committee are coordinating and working on all the testing schedules and testing details for FSA/ NWEA/ EOC/ District Finals. Please note, we have posted all of April testing information and May will be posted soon. All this information is shared on our website and can be found by clicking here: https://ssms.pasco.k12.fl.us/testing-basics/ Traditional face to face students will find out their testing group and testing location this week in their classroom and will be posted in the cafeteria. If students have questions, they can ask one of their team teachers.
School Events and INFO:
Virtual Talent Show! We are excited that our PTO is coordinating our first virtual talent show fundraiser for our students! All students will be able to view the performances virtually on campus Friday 4/23. Those students who completed the entry form will participate in auditions after school (3:15-5ish) 3/31 and 4/1. Ms. Lutz, PTO board member, will be communicating directly with those students about details for their audition and plans for recording their performance. Performances will be shown virtually on Friday 4/23 in the morning to all students. That day during lunches, all Jaguar students will have the opportunity, if they would like, to select their favorite performance by paying $2 in lunch to vote for their favorite act! We will announce the winners of the talent show at the end of the day based on the voice of the students!
NJHS– We are so proud of our current 150 students who were accepted into NJHS for the 20/21 school year! We will be doing a virtual induction ceremony on Thursday, 4/22 at 6:30pm for those accepted into the 20/21 school year. We will then have a celebration on campus for the students on 4/23. Each student will receive a letter mailed home to them with these details
NJHS applications are available for 2021-22 school year. If you are a student who is dedicated to Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Citizenship then this might be the organization for you. You can find the electronic application on our school website and social media pages and below. All applications are due by Friday, April 2, 2021. No late applications will be accepted. Please note that to apply you must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and this GPA must be maintained throughout middle school. If you currently in NJHS you do not need to reapply, just maintain the requirements. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Burton or Mrs. Paus. *Students must be logged into mypascoconnect to complete the form through the link https://ssms.pasco.k12.fl.us/2020-njhs-applications/ We will have a virtual induction ceremony in May for those accepted into NJHS for the 2021/22 year along with a celebration on campus for the students.
Current 7th grade NJHS members, if you would like to be an officer for the upcoming school year you can find the application on our school website and below. 8th grade activities- We are excited to announce that we have planned some great events and celebrations for our 8th graders. Your 8th grader will come home with a very detailed letter and packet outlining the events early this week. Ms. Seibert and all the 8th grade teachers have worked hard to coordinate all these great events to celebrate the accomplishments of our 8th graders all while working with the guidelines and procedures set by the CDC that we must follow as a school district to keep our students safe during a pandemic. We thank you for all your support and understanding with this.
After School activities this week:
~Track and Field practice is Monday-Thursday directly after school until 5pm
~ Extended School Day Monday -Thursday directly after school until 5pm
~Wednesday 3/31 : After School Success with Ms. Hoefling and Ms. Angelo in the HUB until 5:30pm
~4/3/21 – NO Saturday Success or Extended School Day
